Conflux Masterclass Opportunity:
Ferran Orobitg (Fadunito) / ‘Introduction to devising performance for outdoor, urban environments’
Monday 20th May – Thursday 23rd May 2013 (10-2pm, The Briggait, Glasgow + outdoor locations TBC)
+ Friday 24th May 2013 (3-8pm, The Briggait, Glasgow + outdoor locations TBC)
Masterclass outline: This masterclass will provide participants with an introduction to methodologies for devising performance of every kind for outdoor, urban environmenst. Being able to identify interesting (and practical) locations and then devise material to effectively animate those locations will be key. There will also be a focus upon managing direct audience contact and participation within those spaces. This masterclass will be of particular interest to artists from any discipline looking for a well supported environment in which to make a first foray into creating outdoor performance.
Seeking: Every type of designer, musician and professional performer including dancers, physical performers, circus artists and actors. All backgrounds and levels of experience welcome. The week-long masterclass will culminate in a short, informal outdoor showing in a public space as part of Conflux’s quarterly Pitch event.
Bio: Ferran is the artistic director of internationally renowned Catalan street theatre company Fadunito. More info at: www.fadunito.com Feran is also a mentor on Conflux’s International Residencies programme and will be performing in a number of his own shows as part of Conflux’s programme of Cataln street theatre for SURGE festival 2013.
